TV and Online Narration, animation, games, audiobooks, accents and character voices

TV Narration. audiobooks. Radio Drama. A specific dialect or accent for your TV or radio ad. character voices for your games or animations. Tongue-in-cheek comedy. gritty dramatic narrative. I’ve got you.

Accents and dialects are my thing. I discovered my talent when, as I child, I had my pals in stitches with the prank phone calls I made in the phone box on the way home from school. At around age 13 my Mum, who’s a teacher, asked me to record a tape of British accents for a project she was doing with her class. I knew then I was on to something. I’ve been collecting and perfecting accents ever since.

British accents I can deliver naturally and believably - Scottish, Geordie, Lancashire, Bolton, Mancunian, Scouse, Welsh, Yorkshire, Brummie, West Country, London general, cockney, Essex. International accents - General American, New York, Texas (deep south), Californian, Russian, Australian, French.

And characters? Well what do you need? I studied English and Drama in Nottingham and continue to hone my craft with ActUpNorth, so I can deliver fully developed characters - Posh Sloany, excitable Aussie, New Yoik Rosie Perez, bumbling old duchess, Texan dixie chick, well spoken newsreader, Californian valley girl, Russian spy, French seductress, Lancashire lass, edgy Landan teen innit… take your pick!

TV Narration

The Antiques Yard - More4.

A 4-part series on More 4 - Daniel Dawson-Gordon and his crew at Norfolk antiques and reclamation centre, salvage, repair, and revive unwanted items before selling them to new homes. In this episode, Daniel purchases 12 half-sized, extremely rare carousel horses that are in need of restoration. The team sets out to complete the task using only recycled materials. Daniel works with visitors from the USA on a reclamation project in the yard, and Daniel’s favourite painting is X-rayed with some very exciting results.

Farmers Apprentice

A 6-part show in which 10 young farmers are pitted against a week-long series of farming challenges, for the chance to be crowned the Farmers Apprentice, winning £10,000 prize money to invest in their farming dreams. The production company wanted bags of northern personality - someone who could inject some wry humour into the script and make the audience giggle. A little cheeky, a little tongue-in-cheek. Think Come Dine With Me with tractors.

Looking back at…classic Coronation Street

Written and produced by Matt Singleton at Cognitive books, in collaboration with ITV and the Alzheimers society, ‘Looking back at… classic Coronation Street’ brings to life classic moments of the soap’s storylines between 1960 and 1990. After Matt’s Dad Brian was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease, Matt developed a series of books to help those living with cognitive degeneration, using the nations favourite soap to spark conversation and rekindle memories lost to dementia.

Elliott from Earth - Crystal Chaos

From the people that brought you of The Amazing World of Gumball, Elliott from Earth is a brand new animation on The Cartoon Network. One of the characters is 105E - a rather snarky northern robot played by Boltonian comedy genius Diane Morgan. The researchers at Warner Media sourced me for the online game as Diane wasn’t available and our accents are very similar. Click on the heading to play the game.
